Jughandles and Other Tales of The Supernatural

My first collection of ghost stories is now available on Amazon through Kindle e-book or paperback.

About the stories:

The idea for the short story 'Saffron' was sparked by an actual apartment that I was shown in Midtown, and by my experience with migraines after a head injury.

'Peace of Mind' is based on several people I met while a homeless teenager, and by my interest in abnormal psychology. Some aspects will be familiar to people living in upper Manhattan.

'1063 Lafayette' is based on a real apartment I lived in decades ago. The unwanted guests that figure in the story are well known and universally despised by many Brooklyn residents.

My interest in the darker side of abnormal psychology is reflected in 'Lying by Water'. This rather unsavory story may bring up some unpleasant memories for residents of Louisiana in the 1990's. The vampire in the story is an amalgam of several musicians I have met during my time as a hitchhiker and hanger-on in the music scene in the 80's.

'Esprits' is simply a digestif I inserted to lighten the grimness of the previous tale.

'Jughandles' was the first story I wrote, based on my travels in New Orleans. It was written during the Covid pandemic as a distraction from the chaos outside my building when the riots started. I suppose it is rather grim as well.

Currently, I am working on a follow up to 'Lying by Water' that will flesh out some of the characters a little more and may be of interest to those also interested in forensic psychology in general.
