An aperitif: a preview of my new collection "Jughandles II"

I wrote three new stories, which were just 'published' on Amazon Kindle as "Preview of Jughandles II: A. Sterias". Due to word count requirements, they are only on Kindle and not in paperback.

These three short stories are set in my old stomping grounds of NYC.

'Papa' is a charming little tale, the premise occured to me as I was using the corridor of sorrows that connects various subway lines. It draws on my experience in and around the Port Authority, and Inwood, a neighborhood in upper Manhattan where I lived for many years. Don't look too closely into the treetops in Fort Tryon park, if you happen to walk by at night.

'In the Van' is a story that has been kicking around my head for awhile. I actually went on this van ride to the Bronx many years ago, and several of the riders and people we met made an impression on me. I decided to create a backstory for some of the people who were on that ride. Pure fiction of course, and not meant to represent any actual person. The story was written with the best intentions.

'Pipes' is based on an actual house in Washington Heights, sadly enough.  I ended up walking by it one day, and being interested in old houses, I crossed the street to photograph it. The cellar door gave me an inexplicable feeling of dread, and I later found the reason why. Thankfully the house has since been torn down. I don't mean any disrespect by relating the history.

I am still working on 'Falling In the River' as well as a few more....til next time, ghouls and ghoulettes....
